Our fire department was organized on May 1921 and serves Mapleton Borough and portions of three surrounding townships in rural Central Pennsylvania.
We operate four pieces of apparatus out of one station and handle approximately 130 emergency incidents per year. This does not include non-emergency or public service related functions.

We have about 25 “active” members including 15 firefighters and 6 EMTs. As residents of a small community, we are all very much a part of the day-to-day activities, either emergency or public service related. We also work with all civic groups and the local schools.

We have an active public education program (Fire and Safety) and an active junior member program (run since 1974). The majority of current members and officers started out as junior members.

Our department has won a variety of trophy’s at parades and conventions including Best Appearing Engine Rescue - 1st Place, Judge’s Award, Etc.
